Private Pilates for Performance Professionals in Seattle
What happens when the body you earn your living with starts complaining? Small aches become missed workdays. Every profession feels it somewhere: hips, shoulders, hands. We spend our days working on those problems.
Emerald City Pilates is a private, one-on-one studio in Belltown, downtown Seattle. We work with professional athletes, musicians, and performers, whether you live in Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, or South Lake Union, or you're visiting on tour. Every session is anatomy-driven, built around your schedule.
Why do performance professionals use Pilates?
Careers at your level are built on repetition, and repetition reshapes the body. A linebacker's hips absorb thousands of near-identical impacts. A violinist's shoulder girdle holds the same asymmetrical position for hours at a stretch. Over the years, those patterns create the tightness, imbalance, and pain that can cut careers short.
Pilates works on the other side of the equation. It restores the mobility, stability, and body awareness that training programs and rehearsal schedules rarely leave time for. That's how clients go from "my shoulder acts up every show" to "wait, when did that stop happening?"
Who will you work with?
Jessica Notman, our studio owner, has taught movement since 2006.
She has worked with Seattle Seahawks players on mobility, recovery, and injury prevention.
She competed at the age-group Triathlon World Championships, so she understands heavy training loads firsthand.
She is a Franklin Method Educator, currently pursuing a master's degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology.
Jessica is a proud anatomy nerd. She uses 3D anatomy apps and props to show you why your body does what it does, then builds every session on the Reformer, Cadillac, and Wunda Chair around what she finds. You also leave with targeted at-home exercises that travel well on road trips and tours.
